My coding journey began during my hiatus from university, when I dove headfirst into the workforce. While juggling various jobs, I rekindled a childhood passion: coding. Late nights were spent building websites, a hobby that soon blossomed into a potential career path. A friend, impressed by a site I’d built, connected me with a golden opportunity at a tech company housed in the iconic TD Tower in downtown Toronto.
Stepping into that office was like entering a new world. The energy was infectious, the pace relentless. I absorbed everything like a sponge, learning new technologies, languages, and, crucially, the art of collaboration. It was a far cry from the solitary hours spent coding in my bedroom, and I thrived in the dynamic team environment.
The experience ignited a fire within me. This was it – the path I wanted to master and build a secure future on. Recognizing the value of formal education and hands-on experience, I enrolled in the only college at the time that offered a co-op program for my chosen field.
The next chapter of my coding journey would unfold at Georgian College, where I would immerse myself in the world of web development and marketing, and lay the groundwork for a successful career in technology.
