The Alchemist

One takeaway The world speaks when you slow down. The real gold is being present enough to see what's already there.

Note by Sanjeevan Premkumar · Yesterday

Life is always talking. We’re just usually too busy to hear it.

In The Alchemist, a boy crossing the desert learns to read the world by listening instead of forcing it. We spend so much time figuring life out in our heads that we miss what’s already talking to us: the people around us, the moment we’re in, the small signs along the way.

This Thanksgiving I cooked a turkey on my own and wrote down everything I’m grateful for. Simple ingredients, slow heat and a grateful heart turned an ordinary evening into something meaningful. That’s the real alchemy in this book. It’s not about turning lead into gold. It’s about being present enough to see the gold that’s already there.

If you’re chasing a big dream, this book is a reminder that the journey speaks to you the whole way. You just have to be present enough to hear it.
