Honest, and Still Dancing

Message to self Name it honestly, then rise above it.

Note by Sanjeevan Premkumar ·

Everyone is carrying something right now. Pretending it isn't there doesn't make it lighter. It only makes us lonely inside it.

Truth and dance aren't opposites. Truth lets us see where we really stand, and dance is how we keep moving from there. Honesty without movement turns heavy, and movement without honesty turns into running away. Together, they let us face the hard thing and still find joy in the middle of it.

In Hindu tradition, Shiva as Nataraja dances on a dwarf named Apasmara, who stands for ignorance and illusion. As long as the dance goes on, illusion stays under his foot and the truth stays in view.

"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves." — Viktor E. Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning

Be honest about the storm and keep dancing.
