The news said patch now. A security warning went out to the whole web, and the first instinct was to rush. I slowed down instead. One site, then the next, fixing what needed fixing. Patience is not slow. It is steady. Panic has us replaying yesterday or planning tomorrow. Calm keeps us in the room with the work. Soft hands fix more than tight ones. What we hurry off to find is often already growing where we first looked.
Only with a burning patience can we conquer the splendid City which will give light, justice and dignity to all mankind.
Pablo Neruda, Nobel Lecture, 1971
